Horse stalls: mesh or steel/aluminum grills for stall fronts?

i personally prefer the metal grills. i've ridden at a bunch of barns over the years, and in my experience the barns with grills just had an overall better appearance. (i dont know how the two options differ in pricing, maybe that factor is related?) also, from what i've seen the grills are a lot sturdier, whereas the mesh can dent/fray/ and sometimes rip
