Why do Americans seem so laissez faire about commerce trying to turn their daughters into slutty princesses?

You know from Bratz dolls to Hannah Montana and beyond there is no end to the en masse influences that Americans put up with and even encourage as acceptable directions for little girls to follow. These commercial and cultural accessories are all well out of range appropriate for little girls to absorb. As a result the girls abnormally develop with a sense of normalcy derived from pop culture's character. So, I want to ask this simply. WHY?
